Industry certification
The private security industry in Curaçao is growing rapidly and offers employment to more and more people. The growing need for specialized security services means that requirements are also set for employees.
To meet the need to introduce a quality standard in the form of certification, the sector organization Curaçao Security Association (CSA) has entered into a partnership with EduDesign Caribbean.
Training can be developed based on the developed qualification files. EVC instruments can also be developed whereby professionals can demonstrate on the basis of experience to what extent they relate to the standard: the qualification file.
Customized EVC trajectories

By means of EVC, EduDesign Caribbean hopes to contribute to the labor market problems in Curaçao and within the Caribbean Netherlands. In addition to qualified employees, it is often also important to have the right person function in the right place in organizations based on competencies. EVC can also be a tool in this respect.

EVC for employees

An EVC trajectory is aimed at finding out which competences a professional possesses. Formally recognized competencies can lead to a diploma or considerably shorten the path leading to a diploma.
By following an EVC trajectory, it can be found out in which position, or with which package of tasks, the employee can best use his capacities for the company. This could lead to following a specialized course or training.
By recognizing competencies, the employee receives recognition for his craftsmanship, which has a motivating effect.

EVC for companies

The labor market is constantly changing. Not only the content of professions is changing, but the requirements placed on professionals are also changing. To ensure that employees meet the changing requirements, EVC can be an instrument that makes this transparent.

Companies and corporations that want to catch up in the field of quality can use EVC as a means to qualify their employees. By working with only qualified people, the quality of the service or product that the company offers will be increased, giving it an edge over the local competition.

Given the small scale of the labor market on the islands of the Dutch Caribbean, Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten, broader requirements are generally set for professionals. Instead of more specialized employees, there is a greater need for more broadly qualified people. EVC can be an instrument for employers to deploy employees more widely than for which they are qualified or certified.
